The coordinating function of the Vice Rectorate of Investigation is designated by UPTi.

UPT Research Policy

The Research Policy is based on a set of principles, values and guidelines shaped by a vision of R&D usefulness to society. It is assumed that the first function of the University is to produce knowledge that later disseminates, internally through teaching, with immediate use by the UPT, and externally through initiatives and means in Open Access, contractualized knowledge transfer and registration of  intellectual property.

The social utility perspective of the produced knowledge justifies the investment in this activity. This investment can be either internal or external to the institution, in the latter case it may come from the private sector or the public sector at national, European or extra-European level.
