Created in June of 1986, UPT – Oporto Global University is located in Oporto, known as the 'Cidade Invicta' (Undefeated City). Located in the north of Portugal, on the right bank of the River Douro, Oporto is the country's second largest city situated within an urban area of over 1.3 million inhabitants. Oporto gave Portugal its name and was awarded European Best Destination 2014.

Oporto is internationally known for its port wine, bridges and its old and contemporary architecture. Its historical centre has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1996. The city of Oporto is also a centre of educational and research excellence, standing out for its technological and scientific innovation which attracts students from all across the country and from overseas.

About the role

UPT – Oporto Global University wishes to receive proposals for collaboration, full-time, of PhDs in the areas of

Economics / Management / Finance / Hospitality Management/ Law / International Relations / Tourism / Psychology / Heritage, Conservation and Restoration

We are looking forward to receive applications from talented and committed professionals wishing to become involved with an exciting global teaching and research project in the sunny, vibrant city of Oporto.

Preference will be given to candidates who have teaching experience and research evidenced in scientific publications. English proficiency is required.

The CV should clearly state, inter alia:

·         Masters and doctorate supervision;

·         Pedagogical activity;

·         List of Publications

·         Coordination or participation in competitive funding research projects

·         Participation in evaluation panels

·         Communications in scientific meetings

·         Language skills

UPT encourages applications by Early Stage Researchers and retired Faculty. Applications to all levels of Faculty scale – Lecturer, Reader and Professor shall be considered.
