Message from the Program Coordinator

We are in the information age. Companies require information for many reasons; for instance, doing market research for the development of new products or processing customers’ demands. The goal of information systems is to provide the right tools to store, search, and update information on modern computer systems in a secure and robust way as well as to support corporate decision making. In modern organizations, there are growing demands for professionals and leaders who can harness the power of information technology in a way that can solve business problems and create new business opportunities.

The Management and Information Systems program combines the fast-paced world of technology with the organization and structure of business management. It is designed for students who wish to combine technical competences in information systems with knowledge of managerial and organizational issues. The course provides future professionals with the tools they need to bridge the gap between business and technology.

Thus, graduates on MIS should have a key role in the selection of technology solutions to support management activities and decision making, in the management of information systems projects, in business process redesign, in the introduction of innovation and change in organizational practices, and in the effective use of information technologies and systems for improving decision-making processes.
